Our Annual Trip Fee Waiver Program

The Hugh MacMillan Fund honors its namesake, one of the founding members of the Eriogonum Society, who also served as both President and Vice President. He was also instrumental in the development and maintenance of the Eriogonum Society website for many years and served as valuable council on many annual society trips.

Scholarship Summary

Recipients of the Hugh MacMillan Scholarship fund will receive a waiver for room and board fees for the next Eriogonum Society Meeting.

Guidelines and Requirements for Applicants

  • Students receive prioritization for this financial aid.
  • There are maximum 2 recipients per Eriogonum Annual Trip, barring extenuating circumstances by discretion of the board.
  • Recipients will be required to compose an article for the Eriogonum Society Newsletter detailing a specific or overall experience for the trip they attend, with a 600 minimum word count and 2 photos.
  • Applicants need to provide a brief statement to contextualize their reason for financial need, submitted via an email to the Eriogonum Society Grant Application Channel.
  • Applications open upon announcement of a given annual trip’s location.
  • Applications close two weeks prior to a given annual meeting.
